The two most exhilarating live bands of the 1960′s mod scene, The Who and the Small Faces, riding a crest of popularity on the back of smash hits such as ‘I Can’t Explain’ & ‘My Generation’ and ‘All Or Nothing’ & ‘Itchycoo Park’ were booked on a tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1968. The tour is famous for resulting in The Who being told ‘never to return’ to Australia by the then Prime Minister John Gorton.
The Who are still as poular as ever and continue to tour to this day. The Small Faces split up in 1969, but have seen a resurgence in popularity, securing a new generation of fans thanks to their influence on the likes of Blur, Kaiser Chiefs and Paul Weller.
The tribute show focuses on the on-stage rather than off-stage antics of both bands and brings together a show that is popular with not only a mod crowd, but fans of live music in general. The show has a run time of around 2½ hours but can be changed to suit venues needs.
The Small Faces, one of the most sensational British bands of the 1960s, are an integral part of the soundtrack to the sixties. A string of smash hits and one of rock’s finest voices in Steve Marriott, ensure the band is still popular.
The Small Fakers are widely accepted as being in the Premiership of tribute acts. They have built a terrific international reputation for themselves as the only Small Faces tribute band in the world, and have played to sell-out audiences all over the UK & Europe. They have performed with and have been endorsed by the remaining Small Faces members Kenney Jones and Jimmy Winston, as well as being joined on stage by Sex Pistols bass player Glen Matlock, soul legend PP Arnold, and vocalist Chris Farlowe.
The Small Fakers are also able to perform the album ‘Ogdens Nut Gone Flake’ live, something which the Small Faces were never able to do. Famous for it’s Prof. Stanley Unwin narration, the Small Fakers perform the album with his son John Unwin providing the ‘Unwinese’ talking between the tracks.
Formed in West London in 1996, Who’s Who, the longest established Who Tribute Show in the UK, have received incredible reactions across Europe and beyond for their exciting live performances and set a benchmark for others to follow. Widely respected and acknowledged by members of (and those close to) The Who, as the group that most interprets the songs of Pete Townshend and the legendary live performances of The Who, with honesty and integrity. Giving nothing less than 100% during a performance, Who’s Who ensure that a night to remember is guaranteed for those people who are able to to attend.
What defines Who’s Who is their chemistry together as a tight musical unit much like The Who themselves. You cannot buy that chemistry, and it serves as a testament to the reputation they have worked extremely hard to cement.
